I got a call one night; the hour was late. I was told
that through the grapevine of Rescuers, that there was a "Aussie" in the Animal Control and that they were concerned about
her.
I went in the next morning and scouted the holding tanks; and
saw this girl. She was pleading through the fenced tank; "Please take me home".
I went inside with her to check her temperment, and true to
Aussie breed; she was perfect.
She was leading us out of the Animal Control at the end of
the lead....hurry, hurry let's go and get 'outta here!
On the way home I discovered that she still had stitches in
her soft belly area. And she was in the Animal Control that way, apparently had just been spayed and then dropped off.
I'm not sure just yet; but I will find out.
Now I have to track down the Vetrinarian that is listed on
her Rabies tag to get the lo-down on this one.
She's extremely thin, and her bowels are a strange color.
She needs deworming.
We put her on Diamond Puppy, and feed her three times a day.
She's so starved that it's hard for her to concentrate on eating;
so it's a task to keep her to the task of eating.
She has a great herding instinct; and shows it with the rest
of the furbabies. She's protective and loving. She's always wanting to please......she is a sweetheart.
We gave her the name Tequila, because of the colors on her
coat; not that we drink.
We picked the name because she answered to it better that the
name she had. She also is smart; an Aussie trait.
